I first began studying yoga in 1993 and found it gave me great solace from a busy lifestyle. I have experienced the teachings of many excellent teachers including Swami Premananda.
I began teaching Hatha Yoga as a student teacher at the University of Manchester in September 2002 qualifying through the British Wheel of Yoga in May 2005.
My style of teaching is influenced by the T.Krishnamacharya tradition whereby the breath is central to the practice and thus yoga can be adapted to suit anyone regardless of age or physical ability.
Inspired by the birth of my son in August 2004, I completed the British Wheel of Yoga's Pregnancy Module and began teaching antenatal yoga in February 2006. The module was delivered by Wendy Teasdill, author of 'Yoga for Pregnancy' and one of the U.K.'s pioneers of this specialised form of yoga.
For details of my 'yoga for pregnancy' classes and birth rehearsal workshop dates please see www.pregnancyyogamanchester.co.uk.
My postnatal mum and baby yoga classes involve both mum and baby for the whole class. The postnatal yoga for mum focusses on regaining core strength and a good posture. The baby yoga has numerous benefits for baby including relieving pain from colic or trapped wind and promoting sleep. For babies aged 8 weeks up to 6-8 months or whenever mobile.
My family yoga class is for mums/dads/carers and babies/toddlers aged from about 7 months - 3 years. You and your child will be involved throughout in this fun and lively class. Please email me to book on either of the classes.
