Yoga has provided me with solace from hectic city life and over the past
few years I have gained a strong foundation in many different styles of
yoga.
As a qualified primary school teacher I have always been interested in
the holistic needs of children and I understand some of the demands and
strains on them in current times. I believe that through yoga, children
can learn how to manage these stresses whilst improving the strength and
stamina of their bodies, safely.
The yoga I teach children combines postures (Asanas) within themes to
make yoga a fun and imaginative experience. In the sessions I use songs,
stories and games to do this. I also help children learn some simple breathing
and meditation techniques so they can discover how to relax and ground
themselves.
My aim is to nurture children's curiosity, and their enjoyment of exercise
through yoga. I want to help them to delight in connecting with their
bodies in a calm and serene setting while improving their overall wellbeing.
