These courses create a space for women to practice together with ease; to
feel more in touch with their bodies and steadier in their mind. The class
is steadily paced, emphasising breath & awareness, mobilising &
strengthening the spine and focussing the mind. It will help you to feel
stronger and more relaxed in your body; calmer and more aware of what is
happening in your mind.
It is a point in the week to practice bringing your mind into the present
moment, with your body with your breath; it is an opportunity to stop the
mind from rushing around, constantly replaying past events and rehearsing
for future senarios. It is time for you to catch up with yourself, take
stock of how you are and let yourself just be... Come and join us, you deserve
it!
It is suitable for women of all ages and abilities; provided you are able
to climb the stairs to gain access to the studio.

Therapeutic Yoga for fatigue and recovery.
Start dates:3rd Jan.
6 week block paid in advance £27. £6 drop-in (Due to the nature
of fatigue conditions it may be sometimes only possible to drop-in from
time to time. This is fine providing the course isn't fully booked..check
with Jane Craggs first)
This class is specifically designed for people suffering from fatigue either
as a result of conditions like CFS/ME/fibromyalgia,post viral syndromes,long
term illness/pain and its treatment,traumatic life events or as a result
of chronic anxiety and/or insomnia. The gentle postures are a combination
of passive supported restorative asanas and gentle floor based/supported
movement with breathing. There is strong emphasis on breathing techniques
and deep relaxation(yoga nidra), and also simple seasonal ayurvedic advice.
Jane works with therapeutic yoga and ayurvedic treatments from her clinic
in Ashton Under Lyne. She also teaches classes and workshops to a wide range
of people. She believes that yoga should be accessible to all regardless
of age or current mental/physical state and particularly welcomes students
with ongoing medical conditions.
Postnatal Pilates for mum and baby
Tuesdays 10.00 – 11.30 am
These classes focus on laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of the breath and core strength. Lots of work is done to help the muscle fibres of the abdominals grow back together as well as an emphasis on pelvic floor stability.
Alexandra Lamb is a Pilates Foundation certified instructor with a keen interest in post-natal health and rehabilitation, she understands many of the issues that can crop up post birth such as sciatica, unidentified back pain, pelvic floor weakness and loss of balance.
No previous experience of Pilates is necessary and your baby’s presence is welcome to create a fun, light-hearted class where mum gets a little bit of TLC.
These classes are taught as 8 week blocks (which you can start as soon as baby is 6 weeks old) costing: £64/£44 conc.

(Suitable for beginners+ and those who have attended TYR beginners’ courses)
New course starting Friday 6th July 2012 7.15-8.45pm - 8 week course

Course cost: £64 or £44 (concession/unwaged)
Following on from “Yoga for Beginners”, this Level One Course is ideal for
those wanting to continue and work deeper in their practice.
Using the postures (asana) explored in the beginner’s course as a foundation,
we will add variations and new asana, including a thorough introduction
and preparation for headstand; as well as more advanced breathing, concentration
and relaxation techniques.
In addition to asana, we will continue to examine how our practice can bring
a sense of clarity and purpose to our everyday lives with a look at the
basic philosophy of Yoga.

Beginners course

This course is ideally suited for those who want to explore yoga for the
first time. Over 8 weeks the Absolute Beginners course will gradually introduce
the basic foundations of yoga practice. We will begin to explore a range
of simple core postures, to build up flexibility and strength, learn how
to improve our breathing, while learning relaxation techniques to help reduce
stress and build concentration.
The beginners classes led by Mick will be accessible, fun and engaging,
designed to help everyone enjoy a sense of well being and energy that only
yoga practice can bring.
